Winter is over, the success continues

Snow sports belong to Switzerland like the Matterhorn belongs to the mountains

It's hard to imagine a winter in this country without fun on skis. However, climate change is confronting these ideas with an unpleasant reality. It is getting noticeably warmer every year, even in the mountains, even at altitude.

However, to ensure that the fun on the piste can continue for decades to come, our task is to slow down climate change. Because stopping climate change is almost impossible at the moment. To do so, we would have to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 90% by 2050 and have completely phased out the extraction of fossil fuels and gases.

And so it made sense to start right here and also sensitise the cosmos surrounding snow and water sports to the climate and the possibilities of slowing down its change. The first step for us was therefore not only to bring biochar into agriculture or industry, but also to incorporate it into snowboards. What began at that moment as an endeavour to improve the climate, i.e. to create a carbon sink, quickly turned out to be a success factor in the competition for top places on the slopes.

And these successes were also evident this season, allowing us to look back on a victorious season for our athletes:

- Maurizio Bormolini once again achieved numerous successes with his board last winter. He was:

  • First in Bad Gastein, 2024, parallel slalom
  • First in Carezza, 2023, parallel giant slalom
- The Italian Elisa Caffont was also successful on her C-Sink Oxess board. She was:
  • Third in the overall team World Cup with Maurizio Bormolini
  • Third on the Simonshöhe, 2024, parallel giant slalom
  • Fifth in Scuol, 2024, parallel giant slalom
- And the Italian Daniele Bagozza also achieved numerous successes with two victories:
  • Second in the Slalom World Cup 2023/24
  • Second in the overall team World Cup with Lucia Dalmasso
  • First Simonshöhe, 2024, parallel slalom
  • First Davos, 2023, parallel slalom
- Chloé Trespeuch was also on the board for France last season! She celebrated these successes with her C-Sink Oxess board:
  • First in the overall World Cup in boardercross and thus the first C-Sink crystal globe!
  • First and second in Gudauri, 2024, snowboard cross
  • Third in Sankt Moritz, 2024, snowboard cross
  • Second in Cervinia, 2023, snowboard cross
  • First and second in Les Deux Alpes, 2023, Snowboardcross
- Belle Brockhoff from Australia has also achieved some very good results this season. Belle is already an absolute star in Australia and we are sure that we will be hearing a lot more from her here too.

We are proud to see how the commitment to our climate continues to go hand in hand with successful competitions and are already looking forward to next winter before the summer. In the meantime, we wish our athletes a good recovery while preparing for another season in the snow and on the boards of C-Sink Oxess.
